Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-29
The Dead Coder is a static content site. There are no accounts, no logins, and no server-side database collecting information about you. This page explains the little data that is involved.
What we collect
- Nothing on a server. The site is served as static files; we do not run an application server that records who you are or what you read.
- Browser-local preferences only. Your theme (dark/light), which articles you've marked as read, your chosen read-aloud voice and speed, and whether you dismissed the banner are stored in your browser's
localStorage. This never leaves your device and we cannot see it. - Analytics. Analytics are disabled by default. If privacy-respecting analytics are enabled in future, this page and the date above will be updated first, and any analytics will use IP anonymization.
Cookies
We do not set tracking cookies. The preferences above use localStorage, not cookies. You can clear them anytime via your browser settings.
Third parties
- Hosting / CDN. The site is served via a content delivery network, which may process standard request metadata (such as IP address) transiently to deliver pages and defend against abuse. We do not receive or store this.
- Outbound links. Articles link to official docs and external resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we don't collect or store personal data on a server, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. To clear browser-local data, clear this site's storage in your browser. For any question, contact us.
Children
This site is intended for a professional engineering audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be noted on the site.
